Studio 143 Week 3

Studio 143

Inspired by the great movie, Napolean Dynamite, this week is Glamour Shots by Deb Week!

1) You will take a few pictures at the start of class Monday. These can be of yourself or others in the class.

2) You will create your own glamour shots. You must edit the pictures so as to look like a professional portrait studio (and straight out of the '80s).

3) You will be required to turn in 3 pictures: 
                    a. A serious senior picture type photo, with a photoshopped background and
                        editing of the person

                    b. A glamour shots by Deb type photo (in the style of the '80s) -- again,
                        photoshopped '80s type background, perhaps an '80s type outfit, and
                        too much make up (if picture is of a girl)

                    c. Any portrait style photo of your chosing

4) Remember, you must use one of the PhotoShop tips from the week 3 Tip Sheet.

Accounting Week 3

Accounting 1B:

4 Day week!!!

This week will all be completed using Automated Accounting.

You will be required to finish both Chapters 4 and 5 in the Automated Accounting Program.

Do NOT print anything this week. When you finish a problem, simply raise your hand and I will check off that you have the problem completed.

If you have any tests to make up that you missed, they must be done before spring break.

Accounting 2B:

For some of you this week will be easy, for others, you have a lot to complete.

1) If you are behind, catch up!

2) When you are caught up, work on Automated Chapter 10 (Payroll...everybody's favorite)

Do NOT print anything. When you are done simply raise your hand and I will check off that you have finished.

Accounting Post Test Questions

After the test:

Ch. 13 is about posting to general and subsidiary ledgers

1) Define subsidiary ledger. What two subsidiary ledgers do we have in this chapter?

2) Which column do you post individual entry amounts from?

3) Of the 11 column journal, which columns do you just post totals?

4) Write the steps to posting to the accounts payable ledger.

5) Write the steps to posting to the accounts receivable ledger.

6) What is a schedule of accounts payable? Where do the numbers come from to create it? How do you know if it is correct?

Digital Media and Production Week 2

Studio 143

1. Make sure to post to your blog if you did not last week.

2. This week's projects are as follows:

          a. Create a new logo for Eaton Rapids High School
                      - Make sure it is attractive and makes ERHS look appealing
          b. Create 3 T-shirts (They must be school appropriate)
                      - One for any team or club in the school
                      - One for your favorite band
                      - One in the style of Ed Hardy (don't know his style? Look it up)

3. Remember to use one of the Photoshop tips contained on Week 2 and explain which skill you used when you post to your blog.

The Bark:

Paper goes out Tuesday at the end of the day.

All pages must be reviewed by one other editor.

Get your picture requests in.

If you are still not done with an article, you MUST stay at lunch and after school until it is completed. Otherwise, your article will replaced and you will receive no credit for the week.

On Wednesday, we must begin brainstorming and assigning articles for the April paper.

If you did not receive 70 % or greater on Chapter 11 Problem Test, you must schedule a day after school either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday to retest.

Monday: Terms, Questions, and Cases

Tuesday: Notes, Drills 1,2, and 3

Wednesday: Problems 12-1 and 12-M

Thursday: Terminology Review and 12-R

Friday: Terminology Quiz and Problem Test


Accounting 2B

We will return to Century 21 Accounting this week. We will complete Chapter 12: Organizing a Corporation and Paying Dividends

Goals: At the end of this chapter you will be able to:
     1. Define acct. terms related to corporate accounting
     2. Journalize transactions for starting a corporation
     3. Prepare a balance sheet for a newly formed corporation
     4. Calculate dividends for a corporation
     5. Journalize transactions for declaring and paying dividends for a corporation

Monday: Skim the chapter and take notes on the transactions given in the chatper
                Complete the terms and questions

Tuesday: Begin class by providing thoughtful answers to Case Study 1 and Case Study 2
                 Complete Problems 12-1 and 12-2 Journalizing and Balance Sheet

Wednesday: Complete Problems 12-3 and 12-4 Dividends

Thursday: Complete the Mastery Problem 12-M

Friday: Problem Test

Digital Media and Production Week 1

Studio 143:

1. All new students must create a blog at http://www.blogger.com/. Each week you must post your project(s) to your blog for a grade.

2. You will be given a Photoshop tip sheet every week. You must use one of the tips during the week on one of your projects and explain your use of that tip in your weekly blog post.

3. This week you have 2 choices (remember you can always complete personal projects as long as you meet the guidelines for the week):
                     
                       1. NCAA March Madness Poster(s)
                       2. A Flyer done in good taste to promote support for Tsunami victims and survivors in Japan.

The Bark:

All newspaper articles are due on Friday. The paper goes out next Tuesday (March 22).

If you need pictures, please submit them using the photo request forms in the back of the room.

Veterans make sure to assist any rookies we have this week.
