Project 1: Hall Pass
Problem:  At Eaton Rapids High School, all students must have a pass when accessing the hallways during class time. Students in Digital Media must have their own personalized hall pass that they will use if they must leave class.

Objective: Using your previous Photoshop skills, students will create a Studio 143 Hall Pass that can be printed, laminated, and used throughout the trimester.

Project Requirements:
1. Have your photo taken on the first day of class (this will then be uploaded to the M:drive for your class period)
2. Your Hall pass must include the following:
            a. Your photo as taken on the first day of class (you are responsible for cropping and editing the photo)
            b. Your name and class period
            c. The Studio 143 Logo (provided on the M:drive)
            d. Something that represents you (unique background, image, etc.)
3. A rough design (paper and pencil drawing approved by E.Smith)
4. Open Photoshop and open a new document sized 3 x 5 and 300 ppi.
5. Create your Hall Pass, save as a .jpg and email to esmith@erpsk12.org using your gmail account.
6. Post project to your blog
Grading Criteria (10 points)
1. Rough Design Approved – 2 points
2. Pass is the correct size and saved as a .jpg – 2 points
3. Pass includes name and class period – 2 points
4. Pass includes Studio 143 logo and something that represents you – 2 points

5. Emailed to esmith@erpsk12.org and posted to your blog – 2 points

Lab 1: Blogger

Lab 1: Blogger

Problem:  In order for students to submit their work in Digital Media A, they must create a blog for Mr. Smith to check their assignments.

Objective: Using their personal Google ID, students will create, personalize, and share with Mr. Smith a blog using www.blogger.com.

Project Requirements:
1. Sign in to Google using your Google ID (If you do not have one, create one…It is free)
2. Go to www.blogger.com (you can access this through the options on the Google menu)
3. Create a blog following the steps provided on the website.
4. Give your blog a unique URL (example: studio143andmore.blogspot.com) and share this URL on the given link on Mr. Smith’s website.
5. Personalize your blog any way you like.
6. Make your first post to your blog – Have you ever used a blog before and what did you use before (1 full paragraph)
            *Note to students: When I say “Paragraph” I mean you must have a topic sentence plus at least 3 supporting sentences. This is a MUST!*

Grading Criteria (10 points)
1. You have a Google ID – 2 points
2. Create your own blog using www.blogger.com – 2 points
3. Post your name and blog address to Mr. Smith’s Google Form – 2 points
4. Personalize your blog with your own settings – 2 points
5. Make your first post to your blog in a complete paragraph – 2 points
